Item description

We are seeking compassionate people who want to make a difference in the lives of terminally ill patients. Hospice volunteers provide companionship to those in the final weeks or months of their lives and offer support to the families. Our goal is to provide excellent end-of-life support to each patient and family. Volunteers are the heart of our goal. Serving people at the end of life’s journey allows hospice volunteers to make a difference every day.
Being a hospice volunteer is an intensely rewarding experience. Volunteers are required to complete a pre-training interview and attend a FREE, 3-day training class. As a hospice volunteer you will be given the choice as to what types of things you want to do and how much time you want to contribute. Volunteer opportunities include visiting patients, community outreach, assisting with office tasks, and bereavement services. Volunteers must be able to pass a criminal background check and be at least 18 years of age. Hospice volunteering is not recommended for persons who have lost a loved one within the past 12 months.
